Kinderhook Plates
The Kinderhook plates were discovered in Kinderhook, Illinois, and were presented to Joseph Smith for translation. After examining the characters on the plates, Joseph provided a partial translation from his notes. However, it was later discovered that the plates were fraudulent. The accusation is that this discredits Joseph as a prophet. This accusation has been disproven time and again. But LDS Critics, otherwise known as Anti-Mormons continue to regurgitate it, hoping to cause a faith crisis so they can exploit the listener for money (see LDS Critics page).
