LDS critics often point out that American Indian DNA has its origins in Asia, rather than the Middle East as claimed in the Book of Mormon. However, relying on this fact alone to disprove the accuracy of the Book of Mormon is problematic. The study of DNA is intricate and making unwarranted assumptions to draw conclusions to discredit the Book of Mormon is not a reliable approach, but continues to be used by Anti-Mormons to cause a faith crisis that benefits them financially.
